The a-DGP (deamidated gliadin peptide) IgG test is used to detect specific IgG antibodies against deamidated gliadin, a component of gluten. This test is primarily used when celiac disease is suspected, especially in individuals with IgA deficiency, where standard tests (such as anti-tTG IgA) may not be reliable. The diagnosis is primarily based on clinical symptoms.
