Anti-Casein Antibodies (a-Casein)

A blood test used to detect antibodies against casein, the main protein found in cow's milk. The test helps assess the body's immune response to this milk protein and may be used as a supplementary investigation when evaluating digestive complaints or other symptoms that may be associated with the consumption of dairy products. Results should always be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other diagnostic findings.

IgA – Antibodies primarily associated with the mucosal immune response of the gastrointestinal tract. Their presence may indicate an immune reaction to casein at the level of the intestinal mucosa.

IgG – Antibodies reflecting exposure of the immune system to casein. Their measurement may be included as part of a broader assessment of the body's response to milk proteins and related digestive complaints.
