    The anti-dsDNA test detects antibodies against double-stranded DNA in the blood. These antibodies are characteristic of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and help in diagnosing and monitoring the activity of this disease. High levels may indicate an active phase of the disease or the risk of organ damage, particularly to the kidneys.
