Product detailed description
Anti-Hepatitis E Virus Antibodies (a-HEV)
A blood test used to detect antibodies against the hepatitis E virus (HEV), which causes an infectious liver disease. Transmission most commonly occurs through contaminated food or water, or through the consumption of undercooked meat. The test helps determine whether the body has been exposed to the infection in the past or whether a recent or active infection may be present. Results should always be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other laboratory findings.
IgG – Antibodies that usually indicate a past infection or previous exposure to the hepatitis E virus. They may remain detectable in the blood for a long time and represent evidence of an established immune response.
IgM – Antibodies typically produced during the early stages of infection. Their presence may indicate a recent or acute hepatitis E virus infection. Results should be interpreted together with clinical symptoms and other laboratory findings.
