Product detailed description
Anti-Listeria monocytogenes Antibodies (a-Listeria)
A blood test used to detect antibodies against Listeria monocytogenes, the bacterium that causes listeriosis. Infection is most commonly acquired through contaminated food, particularly unpasteurized dairy products, soft cheeses, or undercooked foods. The test helps determine whether the body has been exposed to the infection in the past or whether a recent or active infection may be present. Results should always be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other laboratory findings.
IgG – Antibodies that usually indicate a past infection or previous exposure to Listeria monocytogenes. They may remain detectable in the blood for a long time and represent evidence of an established immune response.
IgM – Antibodies typically produced during the early stages of infection. Their presence may indicate a recent or acute listeriosis infection. Results should be interpreted together with clinical symptoms and other laboratory findings.
