HHV6 IgG

The HHV-6 IgG test measures the level of IgG antibodies against human herpesvirus type 6 (HHV-6) in the blood. HHV-6 is a virus from the herpesvirus family, which can cause illnesses such as roseola (exanthema subitum) in children. In adults, it may be associated with the reactivation of a latent infection, potentially leading to issues such as chronic fatigue syndrome, inflammation, or neurological disorders. This test is used to diagnose a past infection or to determine the presence of long-term immunity. The presence of IgG antibodies indicates a past infection or a reactivation of the virus.
