Product detailed description
The EMA IgA test detects IgA antibodies against endomysium using indirect immunofluorescence (IF). These antibodies are highly specific laboratory markers of coeliac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by an immune reaction to gluten.
The test is primarily used in the diagnosis of coeliac disease and may also serve as a supplementary or confirmatory test in cases of positive or inconclusive tissue transglutaminase (tTG IgA) antibody results. The result should be interpreted together with other laboratory findings, particularly total IgA levels, as well as the patient’s clinical symptoms.
