Product detailed description
Anti-Parainfluenza Virus Antibodies (a-Parainfluenza)
A blood test used to detect antibodies against parainfluenza viruses, which are common causes of respiratory tract infections. These viruses can cause colds, laryngitis, bronchitis, and lower respiratory tract infections. The test helps determine whether the body has been exposed to the infection in the past or whether a recent or active infection may be present. Results should always be interpreted in conjunction with clinical symptoms and other laboratory findings.
IgA – Antibodies primarily associated with the mucosal immune response of the respiratory tract. They may be present during an active or recently resolved parainfluenza virus infection.
IgG – Antibodies that usually indicate a past infection or previous exposure to parainfluenza viruses. They may remain detectable for a long time and represent evidence of an established immune response.
